About Us

Bay United Soccer Club is a competitive youth soccer club located in Panama City, Florida. We are a nonprofit organization 501(c)(3), committed to promoting youth soccer in Northwest Florida. We offer training opportunities through our Academy program (ages 5-10) and competitive program ( ages U10-U18). Our club promotes soccer for both boys and girls. Bay United Soccer Club is a member of FYSA (Florida Youth Soccer Association) which is recognized by the United States Soccer Federation.

Bay United Soccer Club has a membership of around 350 competitive players and 50 Academy players. Our club is managed through a great partnership between our Board of Directors, Director of Coaching and numerous volunteers who work together to support Bay United. Our club has established competitive teams starting at U10 and continuing through U18 for both boys and girls. Our goal is to provide the best learning enviroment for our players as they advance their skills and develop to become better players. Our coaches are licensed and attend continuing education coaches clinics to learn new and fresh ways to teach, motivate and develop our players.

Currently our Academy program has received such great response that we have expanded the opportunities for young players by dividing the program into 3 tier levels. This will allow all youth players to be placed within the appropriate level for their abilities and development. The 3 tiers will be: Level I - Academy, this level will introduce players to the game and give them the fundamentals to build on; Level II - Advanced Academy, this level will build on the fundamentals of soccer and develop their skills to learn the game ; Level III - Academy Elite includes our U10 Competitive teams. This level will be for players who are ready to advance and travel to play competitive soccer.

OUR GOAL

Bay United Soccer Club strives to develop each player to their maximum potential by emphasizing fundamentals including:

Foot skills

Sportsmanship

Technical / Tactical skills training

Strategic game planning

Speed-Agility-Quickness

Preparation for the Olympic Development Program (ODP)

Each team will train with licensed coaches who understand the need to build on fundamentals while delivering solid tactical and strategic insight into the game of soccer. Our coaches are nationally licensed and have played and coached at the highest levels. We are home to the 2003 FYSA Girls Coach of the Year, Coach Marek Betkowski.

Bay United began competitive play in the Spring of 1991. The club has had a great success over its 20 years with a number of teams winning Regional Championships and the statewide President's Cup. BUSC teams have also competed at the State Cup level reaching the final Final Four. BUSC players have been recognized at the select, high school and ODP levels of play. Many of our players have gone on to play for college teams, receiving soccer and academic scholarships at universities including: University of Oklahoma, Troy State University, University of Alabama, Tulane University, University of West Florida, Huntingdon College, The Air Force Academy, University of South Florida and Ole Miss University.
