to Bay United Soccer Club
Bay United Soccer Club is a competitive youth soccer club from Panama City, Florida. We are a nonprofit organization committed to promoting select youth soccer in Northwest Florida by fielding competitive traveling teams. Our teams are for boys and girls ranging in age from U9 to U19. BUSC is a member of Florida Youth Soccer Association (FYSA), which is recognized by the United States Soccer Federation. Bay United players are learning individual and team skills they will apply throughout life.
Our Goal
Bay United Soccer Club strives to develop each player to their maximum potential by emphasizing fundamentals including:
Technical/tactical skills training
Strategic game planning
Sportsmanship
Preparation for the Olympic Development Program (ODP)
SAQ (Speed-Agility-Quickness)
Select soccer players are chosen based on level of ability and placed on a team or program to meet the needs of each player. Typically, teams hold a minimum of two, 2-hour practice sessions a week. The season lasts from August through May. Select teams average 5 to 6 tournaments a season, traveling as far as Atlanta, Birmingham, Jacksonville, Pensacola and Orlando.
Our teams work with the finest coaches and trainers and individuals who understand the need to build on fundamentals while delivering solid tactical and strategic insight. Many of our coaches and trainers are nationally licensed. Some have played at the highest levels in Europe and in college. We are home to the 2004 Florida Youth Soccer Association’s Girls Coach of the Year, Marek Betkowski.
Bay United began competitive play in the spring of 1991. The club has had great success over its 16 years with a number of teams winning our Regional Championship and the statewide President’s Cup. BUSC teams have also competed at the State Cup level and have reached the Final Four. Bay United Soccer Club players have been recognized at the select, high school, and ODP levels of play. Many of our players have gone on to play for college teams, receiving soccer and academic scholarships at universities, including: University of Oklahoma, Troy State University, University of Alabama, Tulane University, University of West Florida, University of Ohio (Toledo), University of North Florida, Huntingdon College, The Air Force Academy, University of South Florida and Ole Miss University.
