ACADEMY

Winning is important, but player development is paramount”

Academy is a youth program open to ages 4-10 of all skill levels, training twice a week. This program is designed to provide quality age appropriate training with the goal being to develop players to progress to the next level of the game in a fun, friendly environment delivered by licensed coaches with many years of experience of coaching.

  • We want our players to have as much time on the ball as possible with our end goal to have all of our players to have gained and worked on their: Individual skills
  • Be comfortable on the ball using both feet
  • Introduce game awareness
  • Small-sided games
  • Parent education
  • Lots of free play
  • Having as much fun as possible while learning

ACADEMY ADVANCED

Academy Advanced is a program for the committed, experienced youth soccer player, who is looking for a higher level soccer experience but cannot commit or do not wish to travel at this time.  This program creates a challenging environment that fosters player development through professional coaching, competitive matches, and a developmentally age appropriate curriculum.  Players will train twice a week and will go over our checklist that is critical in youth development.

  • Running with the ball with both feet  –  The ability to move behind the ball whilst running to transfer the ball to the “safe side”.  Developing the touches and feel for the ball whilst running at speed.
  • Stopping with both feet  -  Learning to stop quickly to avoid interference.
  • Turning with both feet -  Being able to twist, turn and change direction on both sides to attack space, protect the ball and beat opponents.
  • Quick touches on the ball -  Quick touches with the inside and outside of the foot that allow the young player to adjust to threats from opponents, even in tight areas.
  • Eyes up  – Looking around before receiving the ball and also keeping  their “eyes up” when running with the ball.
  • Receiving with both feet  –  Being able to adjust the body to open out when receiving the ball with both feet.
  • First touch movement- Moving smoothly off the line of the closing defender instead of stopping the ball dead.
  • Receiving side on- Enabling the player to have greater all round vision and the ability to protect the ball when receiving under pressure.
  • Passing & Shooting - with feel, accuracy and weight using all Parts of the foot.  We will also arrange to play weekend games against visiting team out of town or local.
